aliases, .cshrc, and .emacs - before we get started, we need to move a few
files, so make sure you're in your home directory (cd or cd ~), and
- cp /afs/qatar/usr/kharras/www/courses/15123/123-dist/cshrc .cshrc
- cp ~kharras/www/courses/15123/123-dist/emacs .emacs
Notice the subtle difference between ~/ and ~ without the
slash!
Once we've copied the two files, we'll tell the operating system
to use the .cshrc file in the current shell by executing the command:
source .cshrc. This will make life a little better and
you can feel free to modify your .cshrc file once you start to acquire
a sense of what commands you'd like to alias to what shortcuts.
